AI audiogram analysis

AI that reviews every audiogram and leaves the OSHA math alone

Get a plain-language read on each test, catch unreliable results before the employee leaves, and see who is trending toward a threshold shift, while standard threshold shift and recordability stay calculated by fixed OSHA rules.

AI analysis

A second look at every audiogram

AudiVault reviews each test as soon as it's saved: a plain-language interpretation, a check for results that look unreliable, and a forecast of who is heading toward a threshold shift.

AI output is decision support for your reviewing audiologist or physician. It doesn't diagnose, and it never changes the OSHA standard threshold shift or recordability calculation.

AI review · Employee 00482Example output

Noise-notch pattern, right ear

Right ear shows a notch at 4 kHz (40 dB HL) with recovery at 8 kHz, a pattern consistent with noise exposure. The 2–4 kHz average has shifted 16.7 dB from the 2021 baseline. Left ear is within normal limits.

Recommended next steps
  • Retest within 30 days to confirm the shift
  • Re-fit hearing protection and retrain
  • Refer for professional review if the shift persists

Where AI stops

Rules for compliance, AI for context

Anything that decides an OSHA outcome is a fixed, auditable rule. AI only adds commentary around it.

Fixed OSHA rules
  • Standard threshold shift at 2, 3 and 4 kHz
  • Appendix F age correction
  • OSHA 300 recordability (29 CFR 1904.10)
  • 21-day employee notification deadline
  • Baseline selection and revision
AI decision support
  • Plain-language interpretation of each audiogram
  • Suspicion score and retest recommendation
  • 12-month STS risk forecast with risk factors
  • Written dashboard insights

When it runs

From saved test to reviewed result

  1. Test is saved

A test is submitted from the iPad audiometer, entered by hand or imported by CSV.

  2. Rules run first

AudiVault calculates the threshold shift, age correction and recordability with fixed OSHA rules.

  3. AI reviews it

The interpretation and anomaly check are generated automatically and saved with the test.

  4. A person decides

Your tester and reviewing audiologist or physician see the AI notes next to the audiogram and decide what to do.

Tests from the iPad audiometer are analyzed the moment they sync.

AI analysis questions

Does AI decide whether a hearing loss is OSHA recordable?

No. Standard threshold shift, age correction and recordability are calculated with fixed OSHA rules. AI adds an interpretation and flags results that look unreliable, but it never changes those numbers.

Is the AI interpretation a diagnosis?

No. It's decision support for your hearing conservation program. Problem audiograms still go to an audiologist, otolaryngologist or physician, as OSHA 1910.95 requires.

When does the analysis run?

The interpretation and anomaly check run automatically each time a test is saved. STS risk forecasts are shown per employee, and dashboard insights on the dashboard. You can regenerate the analysis for a test after correcting it.

What does the anomaly check look for?

Out-of-range values, large differences between the left and right ear at the same frequency, and sudden changes since the previous test, combined with an AI review into a suspicion score. A high score comes with a retest recommendation.

Which plans include AI analysis?

Audiogram interpretation and anomaly detection are included on Professional. STS risk prediction and dashboard insights are included on Enterprise. See pricing.
