The key differences

Cloud-native vs. desktop add-on

AudiVault was built for the cloud from day one. Every feature — audiograms, compliance, OSHA letters, physician sign-off — works in your browser on any device. Benson Solo is a Windows desktop application with a cloud tier (Benson Cloud Services) available as a paid add-on. The cloud tier has a smaller feature set and requires a Benson audiometer to get started.

Works with any audiometer

AudiVault accepts audiometric data from any source via CSV import or our iPad audiometer app. Benson Solo's one-button transfer feature only works with Benson audiometers (CCA-200mini, CCA-100mini). If you switch audiometer brands, you're locked into manual data entry with Solo.

Complete OSHA workflow vs. reporting

AudiVault doesn't just detect STS — it tracks the 21-day notification deadline, generates OSHA letters, routes them to physicians for digital sign-off, manages Worker Risk Factor forms, and flags OSHA-recordable cases. Solo provides STS calculation and report generation, but the follow-up workflow (letters, sign-off, WRF) isn't built in.

Compliance visibility

AudiVault's compliance dashboard shows which companies are tested, which are overdue, where STS shifts are occurring, and how many OSHA letters need physician review — all in real time. Solo provides company-wide aggregate reports, but lacks the at-a-glance compliance monitoring view.

Where Solo wins

Benson Solo supports reports in 21 languages — significantly more than AudiVault's current English and Spanish. If you have a multilingual workforce and need notification letters in many languages, Solo has an advantage. Solo also comes free with Benson audiometer purchases, which is a strong value proposition if you're already in the Benson ecosystem.
